Is the waterproofing valid for life?

The waterproofness of watches includes a new watch with seals, glass and case in perfect condition. If watertightness is ensured during manufacturing and proven when the watch leaves the workshops, it is not guaranteed 'for life'. The duration of this water resistance may vary over a more or less long period depending on the characteristics of the model, the use that is made of the watch and the care given to the watch. The normal aging of the seals which ensure watertightness is accelerated by thermal shocks or strong temperature variations which cause the watch to go from direct sunlight to cold water or a humid environment.
